Psalm 16:5 New Living Translation 5 “Lord, you alone are my inheritance, my cup of blessing. You guard all that is mine.”
This is the most amazing scripture when we realize that we can achieve an inspired inheritance. When we think of careers, money, fortunes won or lost and inheritance, we often look at only our earthly family tree. Our parent’s career often influences our paths and seem to dictate our future. What about your Heavenly Father’s vision for your life?

Amplified Version Verse 5: “The Lord is my chosen and assigned portion, my cup; You hold and maintain my lot.”
Deep down most people are afraid to trust the Lord with their finances. They think that God will ask them to go to Africa and live in a hut or ask them to give everything away. Once we receive the revelation that Jesus holds and maintains our careers, savings, house(s), investments, land, hopes and dreams., we can become free of the entanglements the world offers, and instead live with the purpose and Vision of the Father in our mind’s eye.

Sometimes we zig , when we should zag, when we attempt to take steps in our own power and strength.
6 “The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; yes, I have a good heritage.”
The Tenth Commandment reads: Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbor’s. (Exodus 20:17)
At the core God wants to bless us, do us good, all of our days. We must separate “Wants” from “Needs”. Allow restrictions and boundaries in your life to be a blessing. Structure can bring joy. A pleasant place is when we realize the boundaries of our heritage and spiritual inheritance. Why struggle after what you will have to hold on to and maintain. Allow God to be your Shepherd and maintain what you are to own.
7 “I will bless the Lord, Who has given me counsel; yes, my heart instructs me in the night seasons.”
In the modern rat race, there is all kinds of noise. White noise from our busyness can crowd out the Voice of God. This is why a good night’s sleep is so important. How do you prepare yourself for sleep at night? What do you think about before you go to sleep? I like to sing a song in my mind and mediate upon a song when I’m sleeping. Sometimes I get up early thinking, processing ideas and answers come to questions in life I was seeking wisdom for. Get ready for the Holy Spirit to speak to you, next time you go to sleep. A song or scripture every night is a wonderful sleeping pill!
8 “I have set the Lord continually before me; because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.”
Where is Jesus in your life? Is He consciously at your right hand or side? Do you even want Him that close? There’s no better feeling than having a buddy or friend with you at night or when your in a scary situation. He gives you an edge, a confidence, boldness,
9 “Therefore my heart is glad and my glory [my inner self] rejoices; my body too shall rest and confidently dwell in safety”
IT’S IN THE BEING AND NOT DOING! RESTING IN THE FINISHED WORK OF THE CROSS that your inner core or self rejoices. Many people get sick, or stay sick because their body can’t relax or unforgiveness is in their soul. Soul-Peace is invaluable. Joy is invaluable. These are by-products of knowing and having confidence that Jesus is with you and pleased with your life.
10 “For You will not abandon me to Sheol (the place of the dead), neither will You suffer Your holy one [Holy One] to see corruption. [Acts 13:35.]“
This is a promise. Hell awaits sinners, not saints. Suffering awaits sinners not saints. Pain on this planet may be momentary but we have promises of satisfaction, Guaranteed , if we pay the price and cultivate a relationship with Jesus now, today while others are fooling around thinking they have plenty of time.
11 “You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy, at Your right hand there are pleasures forevermore. “[Acts 2:25-28, 31.]
